The main waste products from water treatment plants and wastewater treatment plants is the sludge generated by biological and chemical - physical treatment processes of wastewater and water treatment clariflocculation plants. Optimization and reduction of sludge production for disposal allows system management cost savings. Saluber 04 designs and installs systems for the reduction, containment and dehydration of sludge production.
Plant design is carried out in relation to the plant requirements and sludge characteristics. The treatment sections which normally constitute the steps of sludge treatment are the following:
- Thickening
- Aerobic – anaerobic digestion
- Drying beds
- Mechanical dehydration
- Drying through thermal separation (evaporation) of the water
- Incineration through the thermal oxidation of organic substances.
