Lifting and Pre-treatments

As a result of the depth at which the piping manifolds of the sewerage network are located, it is necessary to provide for the lifting of sewage, in order to to hydraulically align to the flow rate of liquid that characterizes the tanks of the treatment plant. As a result the sewage is channeled into a tank from which it is then mechanically raised to the head of the cleaning treatment and sent to the screening section.

Coarse bodies of various kinds are always present, in suspension in the liquid phase, in all sewage arriving at the sewage treatment plants. It is therefore necessary to create a departure in order to avoid clogging, damage to pipes and the various machines in the lift.

The screening is therefore one of the mechanical pre-treatments to which the sewage is subjected. The sewage then enters the grit separation tank. When the grit is separated it is then raised through a timed air lift and sent to a grit classifier. Finally the oil removal operation removes suspended particles from the water.
